Meet the Coaches

Hello!

My name is Kylie Marotz, and I am FVC’s Club Director. I was born and raised in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School. I started playing volleyball in third grade and joined this club as a player back in 2009. I played all through high school and started coaching when I was a Junior in 2011. That makes this my 15th year as a coach, my 20th volleyball season and team, and my 6th year as Club Director. The Wilcox family started this back in 2008 and ran a great program for 12 years and I am beyond proud to keep the Flathead Volleyball Club legacy alive. I absolutely love the game of volleyball, but I love even more getting to connect with my players and use this game to create lasting memories. I want to continue growing volleyball in our home state but want to give opportunities to players to expand outside of Montana. Volleyball is so fun to be a part of and I’m hoping to share that with as many players as possible. Coaching is my number one passion, but I’m a huge animal lover and proud dog mom, as well as a portrait photographer. I hope to see you all in the gym! Go FVC!

Steph Mee

Hi! I am Steph Mee, and 2026 is the start of my 19th season with Flathead Volleyball Club. I love seeing the growth of our club and the game of volleyball.

I am currently the head coach for FVC, and I have coached 34 volleyball teams over the last 20 years!

I am so proud of this club that we have built, and I love how many of our players have come back to coach for us.

I look forward to working with ALL of our teams again this spring, and I can’t wait to show everyone the FVC way!

Hi! I’m Lizzie Dopps.

The 4th-12th grade version of me wore the FVC letters with pride because I fell in love with volleyball at a young age. Now I sit here in my 5th year on the other side of FVC and get to watch athletes do that very same thing every day. I watch young girls become powerful women, I watch coaches pour countless hours into our team, and I watch our community come together to support the youth. Being a part of FVC is something I am proud of.

Hi, I’m Katie Cantrell. I grew up playing volleyball in eastern Washington and was a four-year starter at middle hitter and back row for DIII Colorado College. Since then, I’ve played a ton of adult volleyball of all kinds—women’s 6s, coed 4s, doubles, grass, all of it. Thanks to living in Texas for a period of time, I especially love sand volleyball.

This is my third season with FVC. I am just as passionate about developing good humans with communication and teamwork skills as I am about technique and strategy. I’m excited to share my love of the greatest game on the planet with this year’s team!

Outside of the gym, I enjoy year-round outdoor activities and supporting my three kids (17, 15, and 12) in all their sports and interests.

Hi! My name is Abbi Willcut. Volleyball has been a part of my life since third grade and has shaped far more than my athletic career. Through club, varsity, and national-level competition, the game taught me discipline, resilience, accountability, and how to lead with both confidence and humility. Volleyball has always been a place where I learned who I am under pressure and where I found purpose, connection, and growth.

I currently co-coach FVC’s 16s Elite team and bring over six years of club coaching experience, along with a year coaching the Flathead High School freshman team. I coach with intensity and love, holding athletes to high standards while creating an environment where they feel supported, challenged, and valued. I believe the best athletes are built through consistency, honesty, and care.

My goal is to develop girls not only as strong, skilled competitors, but as confident, grounded humans who carry these lessons far beyond the court. Our teams play fast, tough, and with a lot of heart and if you ever catch one of our matches, you’ll quickly see why we’re so fun to watch.

Hello! My name is Alyssa AuClaire, I’ve played volleyball my entire life and began coaching during my senior year of high school. I’m passionate about learning and growing both on and off the court, and I strive to help my athletes do the same. As the co-coach of our 16’s Elite team I focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence, and a positive team culture. Outside the gym, I enjoy camping, hiking, and playing volleyball in multiple adult leagues. I am so grateful to be a part of this program, and as always, GO FVC!!

Coach Don Shaw

I have been a high school and elite club volleyball coach for the last 29 years, involved with USVBA, AAU, SCVA and JVA programs. I am a Co-founder of Beach Cities Volleyball Club in Manhattan Beach, CA where the club has grown to 38 teams. I have personally coached over 200 athletes who have advanced to collegiate levels. I have three coaching accreditations; USA Volleyball CAP III Certification, USA Volleyball IMPACT Coaching Certification, and SafeSport Certification. After moving to Montana six years ago and retiring from a lifetime of working in IT, I look forward to spending time back on the court with FVC.

I am a proud family man, married to my wife Peg for 28 years and a father to our two amazing young adults; Joshua (25) who is a first-year grad student at the University of Minnesota - School of Veterinary Medicine and Shannon (22) who played four years of DIII volleyball for the US Coast Guard Academy. Recently graduating as an officer, she has started flight school and intends to fly USCG Search & Rescue helicopters. And I can’t forget to mention our beloved mutt Charlie (12).

My name is Gabbie Dillon, and my love for volleyball began at a very young age. I was fortunate to play for Flathead Volleyball Club, and this will be my fifth year coaching with FVC. I’m so excited to be back in the gym—this time as a coach—and I hope to serve as a positive mentor for your daughters both on and off the court.

Outside of volleyball, I love spending time with the people closest to me. I’m a new mom to a 2-month-old baby girl and married my husband in August of 2024. I graduated from Northwest University in April of 2023 with a degree in Ministry Leadership and currently work at a local dental office. This season, my goal is to make the same kind of lasting impact on these athletes that my coaches made on me while I played for this club. I’m looking forward to healthy competition and sharing my passion for the game.

Go FVC

Hello, my name is Noah Klippenstein. I have been playing volleyball since seventh grade, but in eight grade I truly fell in love with the sport. After playing throughout high school, I talked about coaching and finally this year I decided to be an assistant coach with FVC. I’m looking forward to using my experience to teach players the skills they need to succeed and help them develop a better understanding of the game. Off the court, I am attending the Flathead Valley Community College, where I am working towards my Electrical Technology degree. I love to ski, hike, golf and wake surf. I can’t wait to start coaching and see where this season takes us.

Hi,

My name is Bailey I have played volleyball my whole life. I continued my career through senior year of high school. I have been coaching volleyball on and off for the past 8 years and I look forward to teaching your girls the game that I love as well. Outside of volleyball I enjoy spending time outdoors hunting with my husband.

Hi, my name is Jordan Reiner! Volleyball has always been a major part of my life, and I’m excited to be coaching another club season and joining FVC this year. I’ve played volleyball from third grade through my junior year, including playing in some rec leagues as well post-high school. I played for FVC for three years in middle school, which remain some of my favorite and most meaningful memories in the sport. Those years were incredibly formative; not only in my development as a player, but also in shaping my appreciation for the team culture, community, and togetherness that FVC consistently fosters. Being part of this program again feels full circle. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from the coaches around me and to coach alongside people I grew up playing with, as well as the coaches who once coached us. I’m thrilled to be back at FVC and can’t wait to see what this season has in store!

Hello! My name is Natalie Herne, and I was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana. Volleyball has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I played all four years at Glacier High School, and during my senior year I joined the Flathead Volleyball Club for the club season, where I had an amazing experience and benefited greatly from the program.

After graduating, I returned to FVC as a coach, with the goal of help athletes grow both as players and as people while developing a deeper love for the game. I also coach high school volleyball at Glacier High School, which has been incredibly rewarding.

Outside of volleyball, I enjoy playing hockey, creating art, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Hello, I’m Kaylie! Volleyball has been a huge part of my life ever since the third grade. I played all throughout high school and still have such a passion for volleyball. I was born and raised in Kalispell and deeply love the Flathead Valley. I graduated from Glacier High in 2024 and played for FVC my junior and senior year. This will be my second year coaching and am beyond excited to get to get to know your daughters and share my love for the game. Outside the volleyball court, I love to ski, read, create jewelry and play with my 5 cats (yes… I’m a cat lady). I am always looking for a new adventure or next spot to visit. I am currently a student at FVCC working towards a degree in Elementary Education. I love working with children and love watching them grow into the amazing people that they are! I am so thrilled for this upcoming season of fun and competitive volleyball!

Hi, my name is Alana Wilcox! I am currently a senior at Flathead High School, and I’m excited to be entering my 8th club season as a player and my 3rd season as a coach. Volleyball has been a huge part of my life, and my goal as a coach is to help younger players discover the same love and passion for the sport that has shaped me.

One of my favorite parts of coaching is building strong relationships with the girls. I love getting to know them, figuring out what motivates them, and learning what it truly means to be a good coach. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch each athlete develop confidence, skills, and pride in their progress.

I’m looking forward to an exciting season full of growth, teamwork, and great competition. Go FVC!!

Hello! My name is Livvi Chavez. I started playing volleyball in elementary school and grew up watching all three of my sisters play, which truly shaped my love for the game. I’ve played club volleyball, including with this club and others, and I’m excited to be back for my second year coaching. I’m passionate about helping players grow their skills, confidence, and love for volleyball while creating a positive and supportive team environment.

Outside of the gym, you can usually find me outdoors rafting, camping, hiking, or in the salon, where I’m very passionate about all things hair. I am beyond excited for this season! Go fvc!
